Ross hyslop

Over the last 20 years I have undergone extensive education in the fields of psychotherapy, body work and counselling. I have been working as a counsellor since 2008.

I am a qualified masseur, having studied Therapeutic Massage at the Glasgow Holistic College. In addition to this I have a Keen interest in the work of Wilhelm Reich

I graduated from Queen Margaret University with a Post Graduate in Counselling. I followed an integrative model where I studied Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy,(CBT) and Humanistic approaches, all under a Personal Construct Psychology framework. I continue to use this framework in my counselling work.

Following this I went  to the US to train with the Wuttke Institute to learn Neurofeedback.

I am working towards BACP accreditation and abide by the Ethical Framework of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and am subject to their professional conduct procedures. I aim to ensure my professional development keeps apace with new research and approaches. In this regard I am currently studying the Integrative Learning System, sound therapy.

I follow a holistic approach when consulting with clients. It is imperative that time is taken at the outset to discuss treatment suggestions with clients. I regard the fields of counselling, neurofeedback and body work as complimentary to each other- each have their uses and a combination of them can be a powerful solution.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
